Went to Musee du Lourve or known as Louvre Museum, one of the largest historical monument in the world.
The museum is surrounded by the Louvre Palace which was originally built as a fortress in the late 12th century. The building consists of Tuscan columns at the main entrance and Composite columns at the interior area. They are for aesthetic purposes and some act as structural support to the building.
Composite columns and statues
Arched windows
Series of quite similar facade but with different statues
Beautifully sculptured facade
The floor is uneven but smooth
The entrance enter to a dark arched tunnel
And came out looking like these
Louvre Palace
The main glass pyramid designed by I.M Pei
Everyone was amazed by this glass structure. Who wouldn't?
They are the hierarchy of the whole area
They are actually skylights where you can view a little part of the museum below
Skylight lit up the space to avoid being too clustered with the interior motifs
Such majestic color scheme and fine ornaments
Look like a treasure box but its actually the ceiling ornamentation
Staircase leading up to the second floor. There is a cafe and souvenir shop too.
Feel like walking towards the path of light
Even the columns are sculptured
One of the many statues. Some are fully clothed of course
Entrance door
Paintings exhibition
Tall statues anyone can't miss out
King of selfie. They need to catch up with the latest trend too
One part of the ceiling with finely detailed columns
A fully clothed statue.. finally
The glass pyramid is actually inverted when you see from below
Met Monalisa finally. The famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci. People are crowding around this specific room just to take a look at her. She must be proud of the paparazzi going on everyday huh.
And we are off to Centre Pompidou, a modern art gallery designed by Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini.
Yes its a toilet. And it gets out of service easily after 2-3 times being used.
Large pipe structure for ventilation perhaps?
Another magnificent structure. Look at the exposed services like pipes and steel frames
Pavilion outside the building
Glass overhangs and windows
Pipe ceiling
There are cafe, souvenir shops, ATM machines and lockers available
Going up the elevator
The transparency of the glass and the steel frame made an invisible tunnel
Water fountain inside the cafe
Cafe exposed to outside environment
View from above
From art piece, fashion, lighting, furniture to instruments. You name it they have it.
My favourite place of the whole building. The small pods bar inside the cafe
Smart organizing of space for storage
The electic style of the space produce a nice and interesting ambience
One part of the cafe which is enclosed
Centre Pompidou at night
The building closed at 9pm and we moved on
Street at night view. As lively as the day
Interesting building with lit roof. Lighting made everything lively and beautiful.
