Hi again! Today I learnt about rapid visualizing (rapid viz) which practically sums up everything in a simple manner for people to understand it. Designers usually use this method to sketch fast design drawings on paper for clients to view. For example,
What do you understand about the two drawings? Rapid viz can actually be done in many creative ways. From my perspective, Picture 1 shows the daily activities of human beings. Just simple human figures with few motions enhanced with line thickness can picture the whole story. Easy right? Picture 2 shows the ways of how to use a power drill. With no lengthy words or instructions, one can easily understand just by looking at the drawings.
Ways of producing rapid viz:
1.
THUMBNAILS- small ideas of sketches e.g characteristics, features
2.
VALUE- dont need to render everything, just the important or unique feature
3.
KEYWORDS- no essays, no lengthy words
4.
ARROWS- to indicate notes, process & flow
The title for today's exercise is to produce a rapid viz drawing related to the animal that we choose from Design project. Guess what is my animal?
